Why WordPress

I’ve been using blogs for almost 5 years, starting with blogger-blogspot and switching over to Wordpress about 3 or 4 years ago. I work in the travel industry, where vast amounts of information changes weekly, using a blogging platform makes it easy and fast to make updates and changes. Wordpress also gives you many web services and custom solutions not found with other blogging services.

1. Search-able - Searches can be made from any page for any topic in the site.
2. Expandable - Web pages can be added and-or changed by authorized individuals.
3. All pages are integrated - when a page is added all the pages will reflect that addition, saving lots of coding time.
4. The design is set up for widgets & plugins - some I use now to work with search engines, and many are used for enhancing the viewer experience. ie the video on the front page.
5. Themes are not templates, Wordpress themes are customizable, colors and design can change quickly.
6. Data is kept in a database - Backups are easy and when a new theme is implemented the data can be seamlessly installed (in most cases).
