Redesign

03-11-2005 Redesigning the site to include:

A calendar for events, seminars and fams. Mirrored the Fams & Certifications page to the site.

The Past-Events section is for the suppliers who sponsor the events and the event itself.

The front page is very proactive. The first thing you see entering the site are listings and descriptions of upcoming tiag events.

The purpose of the site is to bring suppliers and travel agents and travel suppliers together.

At this time the travel industry is seeing a lot of changes technology wise, as well as competition from web booking engines. It is important for agents to not only stay up with this technology, but be able to surpass it with extra services, a personal interest and show their clients their competence in: technology, and travel expertise.

Part of the evolution of travel agents will be connected to how well agents can utilize the web to interact and provide information to their clients online.

My goal is to have tiag’s web site help travel agents & travel suppliers learn the possibilities of what they can do online to improve their business.

Created web site

10-28-2002 Registered and created tiag.org . After a year and a half the site was turned over to a board member who thought they wanted to be a web designer.

Corporate Travel agency:
This travel website is directed to corporate travelers. Newsletter updates are monthly and quarterly, with news about who is giving travel surcharges and discounts, best ways to take advantage of frequent flyer miles programs and more.

Each corporate client has their own custom start page including links for corporate discount programs and profile forms are available for new travelers.

All the form pages for leisure, corporate travelers and newsletters are on a secure layer.

Affiliation programs
Affiliation accounts are set up for: travel insurance companies, credit cards, several cruise lines and many of our all-inclusive package suppliers.

American Express Credit Card Affiliation

07-28-2005 This American Express affiliation works great with Williamsburg Travel and for business travelers. Many corporate travel programs use special accounts to pay for travel expenses. The use of a separate credit card lets the traveler easily account for unexpected expenses and accumulate reward points for vacation programs offered by American Express.

Hooters Swimsuit Pageant

01-24-2005 This is the second year I have had the opportunity to work on the Hooters Annual International Swimsuit Pageant registration pages. Hooters
sent 2 new pictures this year, the 2005 Hooters poster for the Pageant, and everyone on stage. To give it a Hooters “Delightfully tacky yet unrefined” look, I added the logo as a watermark so it scrolls with the page(in the newer browsers), and colors to the drop-down menu that coordinate with the rooms & occupancy(s). I hope everyone at Hooters like it.

cto-Atlanta

5. Keep the web site updated with current activities and events.
6. Meet with the board members to get ideas about the site.

Who is the site for?

This site is primarily for travel agents that sell Caribbean destinations
and members of Caribbean Travel Organization, but could also be for travelers
looking for information on traveling to The Caribbean (this needs to be
talked about).

News Feed (blog)
Many businesses are now taking advantage of offering news feeds. Less than 12% of internet viewers are familiar with using a news reader, but that will change with the new browsers coming with in the next couple of months.

About the Design to jackkennard.com

Still using Brian´s Revolution Theme. The big change is the header, added an image from Occidental Grand in Cozumel and changed the background color to a greenish blue, something easy on the eyes. Also added a Event Calendar plugin to follow up-coming events.

The original design and back bone comes from Brian Gardner´s Revolution template theme. I picked this design and layout because it is w3c compliant, the design is ahead of it’s time and I want to know more about how WordPress works under the hood. Yes I could create this design myself, but I cut the design time to a 10th, and I want to learn more about WordPress.

Some of the changes to site:

• September 23, 2007 Added random images to the front page using php and css. There are only 3 images now, but it will be easy to add more.
• The Revolution theme was loaded in Late August 2007.
